Jarrah. Spotted Gum. Merbau. Premium Australian hardwoods, hand-selected, properly installed, and built to last decades.
No two boards the same · Ages beautifully · Up to 20 year lifespan
No two boards are identical. Every deck has its own grain, colour, and character — something no composite can replicate.
Timber stays significantly cooler than composite in Perth's sun. Barefoot in summer — no problem.
Properly maintained hardwood deepens in colour over time. It doesn't just hold up — it improves.
Unlike composite, individual boards can be replaced or sanded back. A timber deck can be restored; composite can't.
The timbers we use
Not sure which one? We'll bring samples to your site visit. Most people decide on the spot once they see them in the flesh.
Western Australia
Rich reddish-brown
A WA native and one of the most sought-after timbers in the country. Dense, hard, naturally resistant to rot and termites. It deepens in colour with age. If you want something that feels genuinely West Australian — Jarrah is it.
Eastern Australia
Light to mid-brown with varied grain
Beautiful interlocking grain with natural colour variation from cream through to dark brown. One of Australia's hardest and most durable hardwoods — excellent for high-traffic decks and contemporary designs where you want character without the dark tones.
Southeast Asia / Pacific
Warm orange-red to dark brown
The hardest working timber in Australian decking. Cost-effective without cutting corners — Merbau has proven itself across thousands of Perth decks for decades. Rich colour, natural oils that resist decay, and a finish that looks sharp oiled or aged.
